The Sleeves Bio (long and short form)
Web Page bio:
They say that music is the language of the soul, and nothing could be truer for this dreamy Indie Folk-tronic duo. The Sleeves are Felicia Harding and Daine Spowart based out of Victoria BC, Canada. Serving you on the sonic red carpet with the poise of Feist and the chemistry of The Civil Wars. The two met while touring Australia with pop-folk group Belle Miners and hit it off.
After a subsequent successful tour of Europe they decided to join forces and continue their adventures as a duo. With international travel on hold during the pandemic, they had to cancel their tours and are now so excited to finally be reunited, touring Australia with Belle Miners in March 2024 and settling in Canada to record their first full length album (due for release February 2027).
200 words:
The Sleeves are an atmospheric indie-folk duo blending lush harmony, reverberant guitar, and emotional storytelling. Canadian vocalist Felicia Harding and Australian guitarist/producer Daine Spowart met while touring with folk-pop trio Belle Miners, eventually falling in love on the road while crisscrossing Australia and Europe. Now newlyweds and creative partners, their music is infused with real-life longing, distance, and devotion.
Separated for years during the pandemic, their reunion sparked a creative fire that led to Temple—their forthcoming debut album (due early 2027). The record explores sound as sanctuary, weaving together acoustic folk roots with ambient, dreamlike textures and delicate electronic elements.
Fans of The Civil Wars, Feist, and Angus & Julia Stone will find a familiar intimacy in The Sleeves’ live performances—where raw vocals, looped stomp box, and cinematic guitar/synth swells unfold like a slow-burning conversation.
With origins in two hemispheres and shaped by distance, The Sleeves’ music is both expansive and deeply personal. Whether in a candlelit hall or beneath open sky, The Sleeves hold space through song—and invite listeners to come home to themselves.
